Bone Anchored Hearing Device (BAHA)
There are two different reasons for poor hearing. One is related to problems with the function of the inner ear. The other occurs when the sound can’t effectively reach the inner ear. For example, problems with the ear canal or the middle ear could prevent the transmission of sound to the inner ear. This is called a conductive hearing loss. When this occurs or when there is no usable hearing in one ear, a Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) may be the best option for improving hearing.
Our trained Audiologists will be able to determine, based upon your hearing evaluation, whether a traditional hearing aid or a BAHA device is most appropriate for you.
BAHA devices can be worn by anyone who needs this kind of hearing solution, from infants through adults. Come see our Audiologists at The Hearing Center to see if these devices are an appropriate option for you.
